　　A data survey report recently released by the China Standardization Research Association shows that indoor environmental pollution is 5-10 times that of outdoor environmental pollution, and 68% of diseases are caused by indoor environmental pollution. According to the detailed introduction of the First National Conference on Indoor Air Pollution and Adolescent Health, about 2.1 million children and adolescents die each year from upper respiratory tract infections due to environmental pollution such as decoration design. More than one million children under the age of five died due to environmental pollution in the room.

Among the 398 inspection engineering buildings, the environmental pollution rate of newly renovated houses and office buildings reached 100%, the rate of benzaldehyde exceeding the standard was 80%, and the rate of room environmental pollution was 80%. The over-standard rate was 79%. In addition, the measured value of formaldehyde in the decoration is 24 times the national industry standard operating value, and the measured value of benzene is 22 or 5 times the national industry standard operating value.

　　The main sources of air pollutants in decoration design are building decoration materials, furniture and building decoration materials. At this stage, the phenomenon of excessive air pollutants is very serious. The Hunan Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau spot-checked 105 batches of building materials and decorations from 99 companies in the sales market. The average pass rate is only 7.6%. The over-standard rate of formaldehyde in each boardroom is over 90%. More than 60% of wood-based panels, furniture, chemical plant architectural coatings and various adhesives are unqualified, more than 60% of formaldehyde exceeds the standard, and more than 90% of children's furniture are unqualified. In mid-to-late July 2020, the quality supervision unit commissioned the interior decoration raw material commodity supervision and inspection center to conduct random inspections on the wood-based panels in the four major home building materials markets in Changsha and Gaoqiao, Nanhu and Xinhua News Agency. Thirty-eight samples were sampled, and 27 had excessive formaldehyde emissions. Authoritative experts said that generally speaking, the pass rate of wood-based panels in the sales market is about 20%, the pass rate of furniture is only 30%, and the pass rate of paints and varnishes is only 65%. In this case, the serious consequences of environmental pollution in house decoration can be imagined.
