  K5 Air Purifier

  HEPA filter

High-efficiency particulate air filters (HEPA) are one of the most popular technologies used in air purification. A standard HEPA filter can absorb 99.7% of suspended particles with a size of 0.3 microns (0.3 microns is the most difficult size to filter), but its wind resistance is relatively large, and it is generally rarely used in air purifiers. The HEPA claimed by the manufacturer is actually not the real HEPA. Its filtration efficiency is slightly lower than that of HEPA, and the wind resistance is relatively low. Whether it is the real HEPA or the advertised HEPA, it makes the inhaled air fresher and cleaner. The filter absorbs chemical fumes, bacteria, dust particles and pollen, which are removed from the air after being filtered by an air purifier.

The advantage of HEPA filter is that it is effective and safe, and it is the most important technology to remove particulate pollutants in the air, but the disadvantage is that it can only filter out suspended particles and cannot filter out harmful gases. Air purifiers using HEPA must have a good airtight design, otherwise the air will go around the filter and lose the filtering effect.

  Electrostatic electret filter technology

The use of non-woven fabrics loaded with electrostatic electrets to collect dust is an upgraded version of HEPA technology. The advantages are low wind resistance, high efficiency, high dust holding capacity, and the most important thing is safety. Represented by the "high-efficiency electrostatic air filter" on the market, it adopts a breakthrough filter material that carries permanent static electricity to effectively block particulate pollutants larger than 0.1 microns in the air, such as dust, dander, pollen, bacteria, etc., and at the same time ultra-low Impedance ensures energy savings. In addition, the deep dust-holding design ensures a longer service life. As of 2013, it has been widely used in home and car (such as SAIC, Volkswagen, GM and other well-known brands of best-selling models) and some commercial building fields (such as Bird's Nest, Beijing Hotel, Capital Airport Phase III).

  Activated carbon filter

Air-purifying activated carbon is an internationally recognized high-efficiency adsorption material. It was used in gas masks as early as the "World War I". Activated carbon is widely used in car or indoor air purification. Activated carbon is a porous carbon-containing material, and its developed void structure makes it have a large surface area, so it is easy to fully contact with the toxic and harmful gases in the air, and the strong adsorption force field around the activated carbon pores will immediately remove the toxic Gas molecules are inhaled into the pores, so activated carbon has a strong adsorption capacity and is also the main technology for removing gaseous pollutants. Activated carbon adsorption technology is mainly divided into two categories: physical adsorption and chemical adsorption.

Physical adsorption is mainly for macromolecular organic gases (such as TVOCs such as benzene) to adsorb these macromolecular pollutants through the microporous structure of activated carbon itself. Chemical adsorption is mainly aimed at some small molecular gaseous pollutants such as (formaldehyde, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen oxides, etc.), because the small molecular gas is easily desorbed to form secondary pollution after being adsorbed, so the activated carbon should be chemically treated, so that the The adsorbed gas reacts with chemical components to achieve the adsorption effect.

  Dust collection technology

The principle of high-voltage electrostatic adsorption is used to remove particulate pollutants in the air, such as dust, soot, pollen, cigarette smell and kitchen fumes. The disadvantage of this technology is that it is easy to generate ozone, and it is only effective for large particle gases such as particulate matter. The disadvantage is that it is necessary to pay attention to the safety of electrical appliances (the high voltage can sometimes reach tens of thousands of volts), it is difficult to clean, and it is easy to generate ozone. It must be properly designed to reduce the ozone discharge to below a safe concentration.

Ozone can kill bacteria, kill some viruses and bacteria, and also kill human white blood cells, which may lead to cancer. Therefore, it is generally not used in household air purification products. The ozone factor is mainly used to sterilize the air. Ozone is a world-recognized efficient sterilizing and detoxifying oxidant, which can efficiently decompose various decoration pollutants and quickly kill various viruses and bacteria. It can meet the needs of newly decorated and staged special static treatment, but because of the strong oxidizing effect of ozone, it will cause harm to people and accelerate the aging of the surface of the object. After automatically reducing to oxygen, it is a green oxidative decomposer without any chemical residue.
