  Myth 1: The bigger the fan, the better the heat dissipation

  Many people believe that the size of the small CPU cooling fan directly determines the cooling performance of the system. It is true that the fan plays a pivotal role in the design of the cooling solution, but the size of the fan cannot directly determine the overall performance of the solution. Under normal circumstances, a large-sized fan may obtain a larger air volume at the same speed, but under the condition of obtaining the same air volume, a large-sized fan can obtain a better mute effect than a small-sized fan. However, with the improvement of the integration of electronic products, the size of the space left to thermal design engineers is becoming smaller (this is an inevitable trend, thermal design engineers should rather quickly find ways to improve the level of thermal design instead of worrying). Large size fans will take up a lot of heat dissipation design space, making the design of heat sinks difficult.

  Myth 2: Ball fans are stronger than hydraulic fans

  This is the mantra of many fan engineers educating non-professionals. But it is wrong, at least one-sided. For the life of the CPU small cooling fan, the biggest influence is the fan bearing. There are generally two designs of fans on the market today, namely ball and oil seal. Ball fans are relatively old, and the common sense of changing sliding friction to rolling friction has been discussed in junior high school physics, so I won’t introduce it too much. The design of the oil seal is not understood by many people. The representative form of the oil seal is the TC oil seal, which is a double-lip oil seal with a self-tightening spring completely covered by rubber. "Fu bearing", which makes it fully enclosed and has better lubricity, so that the life of the bearing can be extended.
